The legal definition of sexual harassment covers a wide range of actions that may often be dismissed as insignificant. However, any unwelcome behavior with sexual overtones can be classified as sexual harassment. This includes unwelcome physical, verbal, or non-verbal actions of a sexual nature, demands or requests for sexual favors, sexually suggestive comments, inappropriate physical contact or advances, and the display of pornographic material.

According to the University Grants Commission (Prevention, prohibition and redressal of sexual harassment of women employees and students in higher educational institutions) Regulations, 2015, an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) is established in the college to address issues related to sexual harassment.

The committee’s primary objectives are:

1. To provide a safe and secure environment for all members of the Shri Ram – Krishna Mahavidyalya, particularly women.

2. To address complaints related to sexual harassment

3. To ensure a respectful and inclusive atmosphere.

The ICC is composed of a balanced representation, including faculty members, administrative staff, and external members with expertise in handling such matters. The committee is committed to handling complaints with the utmost confidentiality, fairness, and impartiality, providing support to the complainants and ensuring that appropriate actions are taken in a timely manner.
